Girls Inc Upstander Training, February 13

$0.00

Thursday, February 13, 9am-1pm

Girls Inc Shelbyville

904 S Miller St

Shelbyville, IN 46176

The purpose of this Train the Trainer is to develop a framework that helps Girls Inc staff with the skills to train participants aged 9-18 in “How to be an Upstander”.

An Upstander is someone who actively stands up against bullying, injustice, or wrongdoing, as opposed to being a passive bystander who simply witnesses these events without taking action. Upstanders play a key role in creating positive change by speaking out, offering support to someone being harassed, and sometimes directly intervening in harmful situations.

Following this training, staff will have tools and exercises to create their own training for participants to gain skills in interrupting microaggressions or bullying among their peers.
